Dear GPS,
Harmon-Meek Gallery was established in January 1964 in Naples on Third Street South. Since then we have occupied 6 different locations, all in Naples. In the words of Johnny Cash, “We’ve been everywhere”, but always in the City of Naples. From 3rd Street South to Broad Avenue S, to Venetian Bay Village Shops, to Fifth Avenue South, to 9th Street North, and 12th Avenue South.
The exact location of our current space is 599 9th Street North suite 309. The Gallery is located on the third floor of an office building with First Horizon Bank on the ground level. Now as it were in the City of Naples, this street has three names: 9th Street North, Tamiami Trail, or US 41. All are the same street, but you may see street signs identifying it by any one of these names. The office building is just North of Wynns Market and the Hospital downtown and located also on the west side of the street.
We have moved so often in our 61-year history, because we hope to remain in business another 60 years! Landlords change often in commercial real estate, so we must make changes too. Our big advantage at 599 9th Street North space is that we own this space and cannot be forced out with a change in the landlord! We are also excited to announce that we purchased the office space directly adjacent to our gallery space with plans to expand the gallery. The future space will be 3,800 square feet plus a balcony where we plan to exhibit outdoor sculpture.
We will continue to change exhibitions frequently throughout the season, with both solo shows and group shows. We hope you visit us soon at 599 9th Street North!
